Generating a glass from genetic information. Creating “a shape for you alone” with an algorithm.

We planned and produced the product and website for DNA GLASS. From genetic information, it generates and produces a one-of-a-kind glass design. We developed a mechanism that automatically creates a glass design suited to each person from genetic-factor information — such as alcohol-decomposition ability, the sensitivity of taste and smell, and personality and preferences — and actually produced them. We were involved across the whole: developing the glass design rules and algorithm, developing the program to automatically generate the design from genetic information, and planning and producing the site. On the website, you can see the DNA GLASS overview, design-generation images, design rules, and glasses actually produced from DNA.
