IKEA|SUKIMA GALLERY
Coloring the city’s gaps with furniture. An experiential site making the most of fresh surprise and ambient sound.
This is the special site for “SUKIMA GALLERY,” an event IKEA held in summer 2012. At the event, furniture was displayed using the gaps (sukima) between city buildings, under staircases, and so on, developing 14 galleries where you could experience that even a little gap can be coordinated beautifully with the right idea. On the website, we finished the “spaces” that suddenly appeared around the city — including the cast — into visuals that deliver fresh surprise, completed with cute BGM over a base of ambient sound that evokes the city. We also ran a campaign where clicking the “Like” button placed on each gallery page entered you in a draw to win an IKEA gift card worth the full set of items used in that gallery. *This is a website that was previously made in Flash.
